1. For each of the reactions below:

• Draw a condensed structural diagram for all organic reactantsand products, if isomers are produced, draw them as well

• Name all products

• Classify the reaction type: addition, substitution, elimination etc. 

a) hydrogen bromide + pent-2-ene ®    ​​​​​​(6 marks)

 b) 2,2 -dimethylpropane + chlorine gas ®    ​​​​​(6 marks)

 

 

c) 1-chlorobutane reacts + sodium hydroxide solution ®   ​​​(6 marks)

 

 d) Pentan-1-ol reacts + propanoic acid ®​​​​​​(6 marks)
