The slope of the "rise over the run" of the two points. I'll list the two points (x,y) in order of decreasing x
(4,0)
(3,3)
The run is the distance between the two x values : (4 - 3) = 1
The rise is the difference of the two y values, taken in the same order as the run was calculated: (0 - 3) = -3
The Rise/Run is therefore -3/1, or -3.
The slope of a line containing these two points is -3. That tells us the y will decrease by 3 for every 1 increase in x. This line would slope down going from left to right.
