8+9 + 1300 = 1317.
A partial sum of a sequence, S3 would be the sum of the 1st 3 terms, 8,9 and 1300. the rest of the terms seem to be a distraction of irrelevant terms for purpose of the question.
S1 = 8
S2 = 17
S3 =1317
S4 =1369
S5 = 1411
S6 = 1423
S7 = 1414
S8=1415
It seems like a trick question, where they sort of give you the answer in plain sight, and then distract you with irrelevant numbers.
It's irrelevant what type of series this is, arithmetic, geometric, or whatever. Just add the 1st three terms.
