find the zeroes by setting it = 0 and solve for x
2x^2 + 4x - 96= 0
x^2 + 2 - 48= 0
(x+8)(x-6) = 0
x = -8 and 6
vertex is half way between them or (6-8)/2 = x= -1
plug that into f(x) to get f(-1) = -2+4+96 = 98
vertex is the maximum point of the downward opening parabola = (-1, 98)
y intercept = (0,96)
