Let x = a side of a cube.
Area, A(x) = kx2
k = A/x2=168.64/5.32 = 6 (No surprise, Area of a side is x2 and a cube has 6 sides.)
A(x) = 6x2
A(10.2) = 6(10.2)2 =624.24 m2

asked 02/17/21The area of a cube varies directly as the square of the length of a side. A cube has an area of 168.54 meters squared when the length of a side is 5.3 meters. What will be the area when the length of a side is 10.2 meters rounded to two decimal places?
