exponential growth is when from one time to next the division o9f amount results in a constant above 1. The problem is telling you that number is 1.035. The equation for population is p(t)=(14000)*(1.035)t where t starts at zero is the nu8mber of years. so p(14)=(14000)*(1.035)14=22662
note 1.03514=1.6187, 3.5% growth over 14 years = 61.87% growth
