asked 01/23/21Suppose you lean out of a window in a tall building and drop a stone. It leaves your hand 492 feet above the ground. How much time will it take to hit ground level?

You should be given a physics / kinematics formula to do this, as you should not be expected to know that the equation for height as a function of time for an object dropped from a height of 492 ft is ...
h(t) = -16t2 + 492
Set that = 0 and solve for t by taking the square root of each side after first moving the 492 and dividing by -16

Were you given an equation to go with this? Like d = vt + (1/2)at^2?01/23/21
