Linear Standard Form: Ax + By = C, where A has to be both a positive # and a non-fraction/decimal
So given the linear equation: y = 2/5x - 4
we can multiply the entire equation by 5 in order to get rid of the fraction like this:
5 x [y = 2/5x - 4] so by distributive property, we would get this
5y = 2x - 20
From here, 5y = 2x -20 is in the format of By = Ax - C, so we need to move some terms using algebra
5y = 2x - 20
-5y + 20 = -5y + 20
-----------------------------
20 = 2x - 5y
So our answer is: 2x - 5y = 20
