Write an equation of the line that passes through (1,2)​ and is parallel to the line y=-5x+4

We can do this two ways.

1. y = mx + b

2 = -5(1) + b

2 = -5 + b

b = 7

y = -5x + 7

2. y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y - 2 = -5(x - 1)

y - 2 = -5x + 5

y = -5x + 7
