(-1,6) and (12,1) are two points on the line
difference in y coordinates over difference in x coordinates = slope = m = "rise over run" = 5/-13=-5/13
y=mx + b
y=-5/13 + b
6 = -5/13)(-1) + b
b = 6-5/13= 73/13
y=-(5/13)x + 73/13 or'
f(x) =-(5/13)x + 73/13 or
13y =-5x + 73
5x+13y = 73

ok so I did it and the slope is 1/3 and the y is -3. I did this by doing y2-y1 / x2-x1 and I found the y by thinking when x is 6 y is -1 and when x is 12 y is 1 so when x is 0 y should be 3 and I got it right. If someone could provide an equation to find y that would be great01/10/21
