3) Mr. Brust wanders across a great desert!  He comes to a magical genie who offers him two deals but he must choose quickly and wisely! 

Option 1: He will give Mr. Brust 1 cent ($0.01) today.  Tomorrow he will give him 2 cents, the third day he’ll give him 4 cents, the fourth day he’ll give him 8 cents and so on for the rest of the month. Option 2: He will give Mr. Brust $5000 today.  Tomorrow he will give him $10,000, the third day he’ll give him $15,0000, the fourth day he’ll give him $20,000 and so on for the rest of the month. 

 a) WITHOUT doing any calculations which option would you pick right now!  Why would you pick that option? b) If the month the genie offers this deal to Mr. Brust is February, which option should he choose and why? Explain your thinking. c) How much more money does Mr. Brust make if there are 30 days in the month with the better option? Explain your thinking.
