I'll be THIRD in agreement and will take one for the team
------------------------------------------------------------
THey sold W white sweaters and R red sweaters...
So then they sold b=R+7 blue sweaters
the total number of sweaters sold was
25 = R+w+b = R+w+(r+7) = 2r + w + 7
18 = 2r + w
So then 18-2r = w is the 1st equation
-------------------------------------------
the sales were
589 = 25r + 20w + 28b
= 25r + 20w + 28(r+7)
= 25r + 20w + 28r + 196
= 53r + 20w + 196
so then 393 = 53r + 20w is the 2nd equation
-------------------------------------------
393 = 53r + 20(18-2r)
393 = 53r + 360 - 40r
393 = 13r + 360
33 = 13r
33/13 = r
then w = 18 - 2r = 18 - 2(33/13)
= 18 - 66/13
= (234-66)/13
= 168/13
and b = r+7 = 33/13 + 7 = 33/13+ 7/1
= (33+91)/13
= 124/13
---------------------------------------------
CHECK:
r + w + b = 33/13 + 168/13 + 124/13
= 325/13
= 25, so the first equation checks
and
25r + 20w + 28 b =
25(33/13) + 20(168/13) + 28(124/13) =
(825+3360 + 3472)/13 =
7657/13 =
589
so the 2nd equation checks
therefore, these answers are CORRECT!!!
They sold R=33/13 = 2 + 7/13 red sweaters
W = 168/13 = 12 + 12/13 white sweaters
B = 124/13 = 9 + 7/13 blue sweaters

Can you double check you typed the numbers in correctly. I'm getting a funky answer on this one (so I think there was either a misprint in the question, or their is a typo).12/16/20
