General form of direction variation equation y = kx, where k is the variation constant
substitute (24,-8) for x and y in the above equation to solve for variation constant k
-8 = k24
k = -1/3
so y = -1/3x
substitute three values for x, say 0, 3, 6 in above equation and get y (0,-1, -2) to get three points to plot (0,0),(3,-1),(6,-2).
