Algebra 2 Question

An aircraft factory manufactures airplane engines. The unit cost C (the cost in dollars to make each airplane engine) depends on the number of engines made. If x engines are made, then the unit cost is given by the function =Cx+−0.4x2192x33,821. What is the minimum unit cost? Do not round your answer.

Mark M.

Edit the cost function and put into standard notation.

I agree with Mark. There are many "x"'s in the equation and some must mean multiply, while others are the number of engines. What does the "+-" mean? Please clarify.
