Need help on math question
Eleven is less than thirteen times a number is at most twenty-one more than five times that same number
Create and solve the inequality
-----
With algebra you are working with unknown value/variables......so......
Let x be the unknown number......so....we have....
13x - 11 <= 5x + 21............."at most" translated means....less than or equal to.....
-5x -5x
8x - 11 <= 21
+11 +11
8x <= 32......so......x <= 4.....Check.....this value.....13(4) - 11 <= 5(4) + 21.....52-11 <= 20 + 21.....
41 <= 41........so....as long as x<=4 this inequality is TRUE. Right?
