The slope-intercept form that we’re trying to get to here is y = mx + b, where “m” is the slope and “b” is the y-intercept.
On this question we’re given the slope directly, m = -2. From there then you want to plug in the point (3, -2) into the equation in order to solve for the value of “b”
y = -2x + b
-2 = -2(3) + b
-2 = -6 + b
4 = b
Putting it all together then makes the equation here
y = -2x + 4 in slope intercept form
2x + y – 4 = 0 in general form
