just set up 2 equations.
- first equation is for the quantity of vehicles purchased: S + M = 29
- second equation is for financials: 22,000S + 16,000M = 608,000
- Now take one of the equations, solve for one of the variables and plug it into the second equation.
- S = 29 - M
- 22000(29-M) + 16000(M) = 608000; use distributive property, then gather like terms and solve for (I will presume you can do this) M = 5000; therefore, S = 24,000
The process of setting up the two equations is key (make equation by "topic"; quantity vs cost). make sense?

Thank you! It makes much more sense now.11/24/20
