area = length * width = w(w+2) = 63
w^2 + 2w = 63
w^2 + 2w - 63 = 0
(w + 9)(w - 7) = 0
w = -9 or 7 --> has to be 7 since width can't be negative

This work is correct you can also use x for the width and x+2 for that length. Great job identifying that length cannot be negative.
