5.5 Zeros of Polynomial Functions

he polynomial of degree 3, P(x), has a root of multiplicity 2 at x=5 and a root of multiplicity 1 at x=−5. The y-intercept is y=−75.Find a formula for P(x). Keep the answer in factored form.

(x-5)(x-5)(x+5) =0


just change the sign of each zero or root and stick an x in front of it

then multiply them all together


notice if you multiply the constant terms of each factor you get 75, which is -75 when you move it to the other side of the equation.
