let assume number of students is x and number of non-students is y 

x + y = 362--->eq1  total number of tickets

1.5x + 3.5y = 747---->eq2  paid for sold tickets

subtract eq1 from eq2 

1.5x + 3.5y = 747

-1.5x -1.5y =-543 (after multiply by -1.5)

0 + 2y = 204----> y =204/2----> y=102 number of non-students 

x = 362-102 ---> x = 260 number of students
