if y=(2/3)x-10, then the y-intercept =-10 and the slope = 2/3
set y=0 to find the x-intercept
0 = (2/3)x-10
(2/3)x = 10
x = (3/2)10 = 15
any line parallel to y= (2/3)x -10 will have the same slope = 2/3, but the y-intercept can be any real number
such as y=(2/3)x+10
