if the coffee house sold 500 cups of this coffee, how much profit will they make?

how many cups must be sold to make a profit of 12,000?

Profit = Revenue minus Cost

x = number of cups sold

P = R-C = 10x - 4000,

P(500) = 10(500)-4000 = 5000-4000= $1,000 profit when 500 cups are sold

12000 = 10x-4000

10x = 16000

x = 16000/10 = 1,600 cups sold to make $12,000 profit
