Algebra problem

The inverse of y=|x|  is  x=|y|   but that second equation is NOT a function.

How could you restrict the domain or range of the parent absolute value function SO THAT its new inverse WOULD be a function?

You could try restricting your domain to only one side of the number line maybe like just numbers greater than zero.
