Slope intercept form is an equation of the format
y = mx + b
where x is the slope and b is the y intercept.
y = 8x - 3
The slope describes the, uh, slope of the line. A positive 8 means that as x increase, y increase by 8 times that amount (e.g., at x = 1, y = 5. At x = 2, y = 13). The -3 y intercept tells us where the line crosses the y axis (where x = 0).
y = 8x - 3
