Math is another language and Science shows you how to speak it.
Hello,
This problem is looking to have you distribute the factors correctly, and re-arrange the formula into standard form of the following:
y = m(x) + b
Where
m = slope
b = intercept
When you start:
y + 4 = (-5/2)*(x-2)
First: Distribute the (-5/2) term:
y + 4 = (-5/2) * x + 5
Next: Move the + 4 across the equal sign:
y = (-5/2) * x + 5 - 4
Last: Combine like terms:
y = (-5/2) * x + 1 *** Equation show in slope intercept form here
Identify the required information:
m = (-5/2) ---> your slope
b = 1 ------> your intercept
