"product" means things are being multiplied.
"is less than" means the inequality opens to the right side, since reading left to right tells you the left side is less than. no line underneath the inequality since it does not say "less than or equal to."
b times 6 < -15
most math people would write this as
6b < -15
to solve, isolate the b. undo the multiplying by 6, by DIVIDING both sides by 6.
6 divided by 6 is one, and 1b is the same as b.
-15 divided by 6 is -5/2.
so b < -5/2
(reminder: if you divide or multiply an inequality by a negative, you have to reverse the inequality symbol. if your original had been -5k < 45, then you would have divided both sides by -5, and reversed the symbol, so your answer would have been k > -9 )
