Let "t" be the number of trips you make to the gym.
Option A costs 20 + 2t.
Option B costs 4t
If you want the cost of Option A to equal the cost of Option B the 20 + 2t must equal 4t:
20 + 2t = 4t:[subtract 2t from both sides to get:
20 = 2t [divide both sides by 2 to get:
10 = t
So, after 10 trips, the cost is the same ($40)
