Use the slope-intercept formula,
y = mx +b
Plug in what you know. The most obvious plug-in is the slope, which, as you know, is represented by m in the formula.
So far, we have
y = -4x +b
But there seem to be too many variables. If we only knew x and y, we could solve for b, right?
But we DO know x and y, because we are given an ordered pair (x,y)=(6,1), which we know makes the equation true. So just plug in those x and y values appropriately:
y = mx +b
1 = -4(6) + b
1 = -24 + b (simplify)
25 = b (add 24 to both sides
Now that we have a value for be, we're done! The formula of the line is
y = -4x + 25
Best wishes!
