asked 06/26/20I need help with this 3 part equation
1)Solve the rational equation below using algebra. Enter the solution.
2x+2/x-1—4= 6x/x+4
a) Solve the same rational equation using a calculator. Graph the left side of the equation as y1 and the right sides as y2. Enter the solutions.
b)Explain how you used the graph to find the solutions using complete sentences.

The common denominator for all 3 expressions is (x-1)(x+4)
(2x+2)(x+4)/(x-1)(x+4) -4((x-1)(x+4)/(x-1)(x+4) = (6x)(x-1)/(x-1)(x+4)
need to foil and distribute the numerators
2x^2 +10x+8 -4(x^2+3x-4)= 6x^2-6x
2x^2 +10x+4 -4x^-12x+16=6x^-6x
-2x^2 -2x +24=6x^2-6x. Now st to zero and solve the quadratic
8x^-4x-24=0
4( 2x^2-x-6)=0
2x^2 -x -6=0 factor to (2x+3)(x-2)=0
x= 2 x=-3/2
To solve by graphing just graph the 2 expressions Their points of intersection are the solutions

It’s just a subtraction sign, I made it different to show that it wasn’t apart of the fraction and that it wasn’t included06/26/20
