Hi Allie,

For the first problem it is important to distribute the - sign across the parentheses.

So to combine the two polynomials

I had x^3 + 2 x^2 -x - 3 x^3 + 3 x^2 - 2 x + 4

adding then I got x^3 -x^2 + 5 x + 1

for the second problem.

multiplying the two polynomials

(x^2 -3 x + 2) ( x+1)

x^3 +x^2- 3 x^2 -3 x + 2 x +2

combining I got x^3 -2 x^2 - x +2

important to watch your negative signs when foiling.
