Complex Fractions

I appreciate the help that I have received on this topic, and though am still struggling, I am determined to get a grasp of this concept. Is the LCM in this problem 3xy, and if so how would you distribute that in this problem?

First combine the 2 fractions in the numerator which gives you (x+y)/xy

Now divide this by the fraction in the denominator which gives you

(x+y) (3) / (x+y) (xy)

The (x+y) in numerator and denominator cancel out leaving 3/(xy)
