The 6 factors that affect a sales promotion program:
- What is the objective? (short-term sales?)
- Target audience (need solid demographics)
- Meaningful and relevant incentive for customer to act NOW!
- Planing and timing/seasonality of sale promotion is critical (Can't sell snow shovels in summer!)
- Pre-test idea on small pilot or A.B spit in market similar to target.
- Implement strategy with adequate lead-times and back up plan, if things go south.
- Evaluate results...did it meet objectives? Will it work again?
