First, this is a polynomial function.
Second, all we need to do is look at the Leading Term, which is -5x10
There are 4 rules to choose from, all based on TWO factors. Is the Leading Coefficient positive or negative, and is the Exponent even or odd?
POS/EVEN: Rises to both sides (similar to y = x2)
NEG/EVEN: Falls to both sides (similar to y = -x2) >>>>>> THIS IS THE ANSWER YOU NEED!
POS/ODD: Falls to the left, rises to the right (similar to y = x3)
NEG/ODD: Rises to the left, falls to the right. (similar to y = -x3)
Your polynomial has a leading coefficent of -5 (NEG), and an exponent of 10 (EVEN)
With a little practice these become easier and easier!
