The height of a box is 4 inches. The length is three inches more than the width. Find the width of the volume is 160 cubic inches.

H = 4
L = W + 3
V = 160
W = ?
160 = 4(W + 3)W
4W2 + 12W - 160 = 0
W2 + 3W - 40 = 0
(W + 8)(W - 5) = 0
W = 5 inches
L = (5 + 3) inches = 8 inches
