we can interpret transformations in the context of vertex form: y = a(x - h)^2 + k
a) Negative sign shows a reflection over the x-axis
(a = -1)
Shifted 2 units to the right (h = 2)
Shifted 3 units down (k = -3)
b) Shifted one unit left (h = -1)
Shifted 5 units up (k = 5)
