An exponential equation could by y = a•bx and since the y axis (y-intercept) is when x = 0, we would have:
y = a•b0
Since anything (except zero) raised to the zero power = 1, then b0 = 1 so
y = a•1
If we want the y-intercept to be 4 then a = 4 so:
y = 4•bx
It doesn't matter what you pick for "b", all of these are exponential equations with y-intercepts of 4:
y = 4•2x
y = 4•3x
y = 4•4x
y = 4•5x
y = 4•(1/2)x
So you can pick whatever you want
