y = a |x – h| + k
"a" represents shrink/stretch
a < 1 will shrink
a > 1 will stretch
"h" represents x, shift left/right
|x – h| --> set x - h equal to zero, then solve for x for x-intercept
x-h = 0
A left shift is created with positive values of h
Example: |x – 4| --> x-4 = 0 --> x = 4 this is a shift right
"k" represents y, up/down
y = (1/9) |x + 6| + 8
