It will depend on the equation in question 2. Parallel lines have the same slope (m).
You can use slope intercept form, y = mx+b to find the equation of the line. Just substitute the coordinates of x and y from our point into the equation. x=2 & y = 5. Given those coordinates, our equation in 5=m(2)+b. (note: you will need to substitute the m from question 2 and then solve for b). Whatever solution you get for b will be used in the equation of the line. y = mx+b (m from #2 & b from solution of previously solved equation).
Example given slope of 2: if m = 2, y=2x+b. Substitute coordinates (2, 5) x=2 & y=5. 5=2(2)+b Solve for b. 5=4 + b. Subtract 4 from both sides. 1=b. Then, substitute b back into the equation. y=2x+1
