45=lw
45/w=l
P=2l+2w
27=2l+2w
13.5=l+w
13.5-w=l
l=45/w from above
set them equal to each other
45/w=13.5-w
45=13.5w-w^2
w^2-13.5w+45=0
use the quadratic equation or factor the polynomial
it's probably easier for you to use the quadratic equation but I'm going to favtor
(w-7.5)(w-6)=0
w-7.5=0
w=7.5
w-6=0
w=6
The height is 7.5 inches.
The width is 6 inches.
If you round off you will not have accurate dimensions.
