Try to find the common difference of an arithmetic series. This particular series is the same as 3/6, 2/6, 1/6, ... So the common difference is 1/6.
a1 = 3/6
a2 = 3/6 - 1/6 = 2/6
a3 = 3/6 - 1/6 - 1/6 = a1 - 2(1/6) = a1 - (3 - 1)(1/6)
a4 = 3/6 - 1/6 - 1/6 - 1/6 = a1 - 3(1/6) = a1 - (4 - 1)(1/6)
Do you see the pattern here?
an = a1 - (n - 1)/6
Now plug in n=20 and a1=3/6.
