To determine the slope of a line drawn through 2 points, you divide the difference in the y-coordinate values by the difference in the x-coordinate values:
(y 2 - y 1 ) = slope (or m)
(x 2 - 1 1 )
For the points in your problem, the slope would be:
-3 - 2 = - 5 = 5
-2 - 0 - 2 2
NOTE: You can start with either point as( x 1 , y 1 ) and (x 2 , y 2 )as long as you are consistent when you subtract.
