This problem is quite simple, but you have to be careful of the double negative signs.
We start with (9-2x2+6)-(x2-x)
Following order of operations we should evaluate what is inside the parentheses first. There isn't much we can do in this step but it does simplify a little bit. We can add the 6 and 9 together giving:
(15-2x2)-(x2-x)
Subtraction with parentheses can be a little confusing so we are going to rewrite this as:
(15-2x2)+(-1)*(x2-x)
This is the same equation, but we've changed the minus sign into a -1. We then use the distributive property to get:
(15-2x2)+(-x2+x)
Now that the pesky minus sign is out of the way and we've done everything possible inside the parentheses we can take them out:
15-2x2+(-x2)+x
Grouping by like terms we get:
-2x2-x2+x+15
Which after being fully simplified gives:
-3x2+x+15
This was a pretty in-depth look into the problem so I hope it didn't make things more confusing. If you have any questions just leave a comment.
Good luck!
