The best way to ensure intercultural communication is by understanding whether you're communicating with a high or low context culture. High context cultures are more indirect, and could take bluntness negatively, whereas low context cultures are more direct and could take indirect communication as beating around the bush. And of course language barriers and culturally based dialogue can cause more confusion. Hope this helps!
