A line that has a slope of zero is a horizontal line. Let us recall that the slope-intercept form of a line is y = mx + b. If we graph the point (8,9), we can see that a horizontal line through this point would be one where regardless of the value of x, y is equivalent to 9. This is the line y = 9, which is the simplified version of the slope-intercept form of y = 0x + 9.
