25.50 spent on 3 cups of hot chocolate and 4 cups of hot tea. the cost of each cup of tea is 2/3 the cost of each cup of hot chocolate, how much did each cup of hot chocolate cost?

3X + 4(2/3X) = 25.50       3X + 8/3X = 25.50     9/3X + 8/3X = 25.50    17/3X = 25.50   X = 25.50/17/3

 

X =25.50 x 3/17      X = 76.50/17       X = $4.50 (hot chocolate)
