Naila, here is the mathematical representation. At some mile m the cost of both will be equal, in other words cost(1)=75+.1m=cost(2)=.6m

.6m-.1m=75

.5m=75

m=750/5=150miles

Let x = number of miles driven

 

Cost of first plan = 75 + 0.10x

 

Cost of second plan = 0.60x

 

The costs will be the same when 75 + 0.10x = 0.60x

                                                                        75 = 0.50x

                                                                        150 = x

The costs will be the same if the number of miles driven is 150.
