Slope intercept form is written as:
y = mx + b Where m is our slope and b is our y-intercept
we can plug in the slope given to us in the problem:
y = 3x + b
now we need to solve for b. To do this we can use the point they give us. The -8 is our x value and the 11 is our y value. So we can plug these values in and solve for b:
11 = 3*-8 + b
11 = -24 + b
+24 +24
35 = b
so our slope intercept equation is:
y = 3x + 35
