the perimenter of a playing field is 566 yards. the length is 7 yards less than quadriple the width. Find the length and width

Assuming rectangle

P = 2L + 2w and L = 4w-7

566 = 2( 4w-7) + 2w

566 = 8w - 14 + 2w

566 = 10w - 14

580 = 10w

w = 58

L = 4(58)-7 = 232-7 = 225

check: 2(225) + 2(58)

= 450 + 116

= 566

Length is 225, width is 58
