The sum of 3 consecutive even integers is 10 more than twice the smallest of the three integers. Find the largest of these integers.

Let the three consecutive even integers be 2x, 2(x+1), 2(x+2). So their sum is 2x+2(x+1) +2(x+2) =6x + 6. This equals 10 + 4x. So 6x +6 = 4x +10 and 2x = 4 giving x=2 so the largest integer is 8.
