The goal of evolutionary archaeology is to study how human beings (and by extension, their cultures) adapt to changes in their environments. Evolutionary bioarchaeology focuses on how the human body has changed. Cultural evolutionary archaeology focuses on the changes of products of human culture. A classic example is the transition from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age and then the Iron Age.
